There are around 85 diverse tourist destinations; these differ in activities, concept and the type of accommodation offered.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">We have endeavored to observe, monitor and analyze these Mexican destinations&#8217; presence in social media (some of these are world-class destinations for their cultural tourism, gastronomic, sun and beach, ecotourism and adventure tourism offering).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Below we present our Top 10 Mexican Destinations in social media:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>10.- Puebla<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite it being a beach destination, <a title=\"Secretaria Turismo Puebla\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turismo.puebla.gob.mx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Puebla<\/a>\u00a0is a highly-sought after tourist destination for its cultural and archaeological heritage, parties, arts and cultural manifestations (quintessential Mexico).<br \/>\nIts presence in social networks is noteworthy, namely on Facebook and Twitter.<br \/>\nIts\u00a0<a title=\"Secretaria de Turismo Puebla - Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SecretariaDeTurismoPuebla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0fan page has 89,378 Likes. The frequency of publication on this channel is, approximately, 3 posts per day. They share information about places to visit, activities and recommended attractions.<\/p>\n<p>Its content is produced by the brand, using images and always accompanied by the #Puebla hashtag.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/2014\/02\/top-10-de-destinos-mexicanos-en-las-redes-sociales\/twitter-puebla\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11773\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-11773\" title=\"twitter puebla\" src=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/twitter-puebla-554x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"554\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Puebla&#8217;s Twitter profile has 4,8777 tweets and 6,605 followers. It cross-publishes content from its Facebook account, with the exception of RT&#8217;s from followers giving mention to the destination&#8217;s <a title=\"TurismoenPuebla\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TurismoenPuebla\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@turismoenpuebla<\/a> account, or using the <strong>#Puebla<\/strong> hashtag.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">9.- Canc\u00fan<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Canc\u00fan\" href=\"http:\/\/cancun.travel\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canc\u00fan<\/a> is one of Mexico&#8217;s most popular destination, recognized for its beaches on a global scale due to its geographic location and wide variety of all-inclusive resorts.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/2014\/02\/top-10-de-destinos-mexicanos-en-las-redes-sociales\/facebook-cancun\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11774\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-11774\" title=\"facebook cancun\" src=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/facebook-cancun-554x308.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"554\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Canc\u00fan only has 2,063 Likes in its <a title=\"Destino Canc\u00fan\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/destinocancun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook fan page<\/a>. Posts shared on its timeline are generally content from third-party sources relating to the city of Canc\u00fan and the travel industry. The publication frequency is two posts every three to six days. It has six photo albums and no applications tabs.<\/p>\n<p>Its <a title=\"Destino Canc\u00fan  Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DestinoCancun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>\u00a0profile has 1,683 followers and 419 tweets. The shared content is the same as its fan page, the only difference being news capsules exclusive to this microblogging service.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/2014\/02\/top-10-de-destinos-mexicanos-en-las-redes-sociales\/twitter-cancun\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11775\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-11775\" title=\"twitter cancun\" src=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/twitter-cancun-554x337.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"554\" height=\"337\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The destination has a <a title=\"Cancun Travel YouTube\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/cancuntravel?feature=watch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> channel with 29 videos; this corresponds with a low to an intermediate level of interaction, as media is uploaded every five to six months.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">The channel is not adequately optimized, lacking in branding and a description of the nature of the audiovisual content. Hashtags are used to identify the videos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>8.- Cozumel Island<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a title=\"Cozumel Island\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cozumel.travel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cozumel Island<\/a>\u00a0is Mexico&#8217;s largest island. The destination&#8217;s dynamic tourism offer is evident on this network. \u00a0Its publication frequency is between one and two status updates per day. Cozumel&#8217;s fan page has many application tabs with the following purposes: subscription to its newsletter, LiveCam and a contestab where complimentary stays are awarded.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Its <a title=\"Visit Cozumel Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VisitCozumel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a> profile has 2,642 followers, 1,621 tweets and it follows 958 users. Content published on its timeline is not the same as the one shared on its Facebook fan page; however, the quality of its content is somewhat low &#8211; most of it being RT&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/2014\/02\/top-10-de-destinos-mexicanos-en-las-redes-sociales\/twitter-cozumel\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11777\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-11777\" title=\"twitter cozumel\" src=\"http:\/\/www.berrywhale.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/twitter-cozumel-554x336.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"554\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The destination is on <a title=\"Visit Cozumel Pinterest\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/visitcozumel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pinterest<\/a>, one of the social networks that has brought the greatest added value to the travel industry. It has 66 followers, 4 boards and 7 pins. These share images emblematic of Cozumel, activities and the destination&#8217;s entertainment offering.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>7.- Riviera Nayarit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/visitnayarit.com\/riviera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Riviera Nayarit<\/a>\u00a0is one of Mexico&#8217;s most luxurious travel destinations, boasting a variety of resort complexes, opulent golf courses and mountainous jungle for the practice of ecotourism, among other activities. The destination has a presence on <a title=\"Riviera Nayarit Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rivieranayarit.mx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a>, <a title=\"Riviera Nayarit Twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RivieraNayarit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>, <a title=\"Riviera Nayarit YouTube\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/RivieraNayaritCVB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a>, <a title=\"Riviera Nayarit Instagram\" href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/Riviera_Nayarit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram<\/a> and <a title=\"Riviera Nayarit Pinterest\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/RivieraNayarit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pinterest<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Riviera Nayarit&#8217;s Facebook fan page has 15,140 Likes, and it shares branded content in the form of images and video and using hashtags to indicate the theme of the publication and tagging all parties involved. The page does not have any application tabs at this time,<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Its Twitter profile has<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">9,584 tweets and 5,553 followers, while following 6,911 users. It currently has 94 posts and it is followed by 2,610 users.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>5.- Manzanillo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a title=\"Vive Manzanillo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vivemanzanillo.com.mx\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manzanillo<\/a>\u00a0is a modern Mexican port located across the navigational lines of North, Central and South America.
